Thomas O. Hyink -
President

began
his career in the energy industry in July of 1981.
As an independent oil and gas landman, Mr. Hyink assisted Tom Morris, P.L.,
in discerning the history of the mineral ownership in various Texas and Oklahoma
properties. In late 1982, Jasper
Exploration, Inc., a small independent Operator in Dallas, hired Thomas as Land
Manager. In addition to Land
Manager, he was responsible for assisting in fund acquisition enabling Jasper to
broaden their exploration endeavors. In
1984, Mr. Hyink resigned his position with Jasper Exploration and co-founded
Grand Energy, Inc., an oil and gas exploration and operating company.
In addition to being co-owner, Mr. Hyink served as Vice President and
assisted in all capacities in the direction of operations.
In February of 1988, Thomas sold out his interest in Grand Energy, Inc.
and started Ultra Oil & Gas, Inc. As
President of Ultra, he governs all aspects of the daily operations of the
company, negotiations and acquisitions. |

Paul C. Hyink - Sr.
Vice President

made his start in the industry in late 1979 as an
independent landman taking leases for a large oil company.
In late 1980, he was hired as a contract landman by Lear Petroleum
whereby he assisted in the reviews and setup of the Ashland Oil acquisition.
In early 1981, Paul accepted a position with Hamon Oil Company working in
the Lease Records Department. He
worked his way up to the Contracts Landman in the Land and Legal Department. In 1985, Mr. Hyink resigned with Hamon to work with an
independent geologist drilling wells in the Texas-Oklahoma area.
Mr. Hyink owned and operated his own independent oil company until
joining with his brother Thomas in 1988, in the operations of Ultra Oil &
Gas, Inc. Paul is responsible for
evaluating drilling prospects as well as assisting in the decision-making for
the daily operations of the company. Other
responsibilities of Mr. Hyink's include log interpretation, field engineering,
and negotiating trades within the industry. |

Sandra R. Welsch - Controller sandrad@logixonline.com Sandra began working in the oil and gas industry in 1980 assisting the president of Southern Resource Company in Corpus Christi, Texas. From 1982 through 1991, Ms. Welsch was employed as office manager and full-charge bookkeeper by Don Kling, an independent geologist and operator. During that time period, Sandra attended college and trained extensively with an oil and gas CPA. Ms. Welsch relocated to Austin in 1991 and has been employed as Controller for Ultra Oil & Gas, Inc. since that time. Sandra has comprehensive knowledge of oil and gas industry standards and operations. Her experience and responsibilities include oil and gas accounting, contract preparation and evaluation, Division Orders, Title Opinions, Assignments, Oil and Gas Leases, Exploration and Operating Agreements, insurance, tax filings and various other general matters. In 2002 Ms. Welsch graduated from Park University with a BS in Management/Accounting. |

Patrick Bowman - Petroleum Geologist patultra@ntin.net Patrick

the petroleum industry in May of 1975 after graduating from Texas A&M
University with a BS in Geology. Getty
Oil Company (New Orleans) hired Patrick as exploration geologist with initial
field experience being in the development of Hatters Pond (Smackover/Norphlet)
Field, Mobil, Alabama. After two
years in New Orleans, Mr. Bowman moved to Fort Worth, Texas to work for Bass
Brothers, and then went to Midland for Getty Oil.
After six years in Midland, a move to San Antonio for Valero and Daubert
Oil & Gas, Inc. followed. In
October 1985, Patrick was hired as Petroleum Geologist for Felderhoff Brothers
Drilling and Production Company in Gainesville, Texas.
Mr. Bowman has worked the Alabama/Mississippi interior salt basin, Black
Warrior Basin, Oklahoma mid-Continent, Permian Basin, Eastern Shelf, New Mexico
and Fort Worth Basin. Spanning 23
years in the petroleum business, Mr. Bowman’s duties include prospect
generation, developmental geology, reservoir analysis, waterflood study,
submittal screening and analysis, prospect presentation, well site supervision
including sample/show analysis, testing and logging, Railroad Commission permits
and plats, seismic program design and acquisition, and lease acquisition.

James W. Hyink - Land
Manager/Operation
jwhyink@aol.com Jim began his career in the Oil and Gas Industry in 1975 with Southwestern Gas Pipeline, Inc., a subsidiary of Mitchell Energy, Inc., first as an Engineering Aide and later as a Landman acquiring leases and conducting curative work in the Ft. Worth Basin of Texas. In early 1979, Moore McCormack Energy, Inc. hired him as a Senior Landman where he was responsible for land acquisition and title curative, primarily in South Louisiana, South Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. In 1981 Jim was designated Land Manager and his duties were expanded to include initiating AFE’s, invoice approval, budgeting, coordinating land and exploration activities as well as daily supervision of departmental personnel. Penn Resources, Inc., a small independent operator in Dallas, hired Jim in 1983 as Land Manager and he was responsible for all Land Department functions and coordination of the Exploration, Land and Operations Departments. In 1985, Jim joined Enserch Exploration, Inc. as Land Manager for the ARK-LA-TEX District where he directly managed fourteen people. He was responsible for all district land functions and worked closely with the Exploration and Operations Departments. In 1992 Jim was transferred to the Land Development Group as Land Manager. He was responsible for all onshore domestic operated and non-operated producing properties in which Enserch owned an interest. Jim worked closely with the District Production Manager in all areas of developed properties, including development and step out drilling, reworks, Farm-in and Farm-outs, acquisitions and divestitures. In February of 1998 Jim left Enserch to become an Independent Landman and assisted Cross Timbers Oil Company in the due diligence phase of their acquisition of the East Texas properties from Enserch. In June of 1998, Jim consulted with Lyco Energy Corporation in directing land activities in the Williston, Paradox and Permian Basins. In February of 1999, he assisted Encore Acquisition Partners, Inc. with due diligence in various acquisitions of producing properties, the largest of which was the acquisition of Shell Western Exploration’s Cedar Creek Anticline in Montana and North Dakota. In June 2000, Jim joined Ultra Oil & Gas, Inc. as
Land Manager/Operations and is responsible for coordinating all land activities
and various engineering functions. |
